It's a nice four pronged setting that does not sit to obnoxiously high, the silver is great quality and the stone is perfect ( a little lighter purple than I wanted but it looks just like the picture so I knew what I was getting ) I have ZERO complaints about this ring it is just sparkly and BEAUTIFUL
